Two intakes offered by Australian universities & colleges

Canadian universities and colleges typically offer three intakes throughout the year, providing flexibility for international students to plan their studies.

Semester 1 (February/March Intake)

The first semester, also known as the February/March intake, is the primary intake for most programs. It typically begins in late February or early March. Applying for this intake allows students to start their academic journey at the beginning of the academic year, providing a seamless transition into their chosen program.

Semester 2 (July/September Intake)

The second semester, also known as the July/September intake, offers an additional opportunity for students to commence their studies. This intake usually begins in July or September, allowing students to join their chosen program midway through the academic year. It provides flexibility for those who may have missed the first intake or require more time to prepare for their studies.

Australian Study Visa Eligibility Criteria

You must have an offer of enrollment or Confirmation of Enrollment (CoE) from a registered Australian educational institution. This institution should be recognized by the Australian Government to offer courses to international students.

You must demonstrate that your intention to study in Australia is genuine and that you intend to stay in the country temporarily for the purpose of studying. This involves providing evidence of your educational background, future career plans, and ties to your home country.

You must show evidence of sufficient funds to cover your tuition fees, living expenses, and other associated costs while studying in Australia. This ensures that you can support yourself financially without relying on public funds.

You may need to demonstrate your English language proficiency by providing the results of an accepted English language test, such as IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE Academic. The required score may vary depending on the course and institution.

You must meet certain health and character requirements. This typically involves undergoing a health examination to ensure you meet the health standards set by the Australian government. You must also provide a police clearance certificate or other relevant documents to prove your good character.

It is a mandatory requirement for most international students to get Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the duration of their study in Australia. This health insurance covers the cost of basic medical treatments and emergencies.
